SERVICES

Speech Pathology Services for Children and Adults Northern Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast.

Bulk billing for the Enhanced Primary Care program

If you suspect your child may have a speech problem, the best course of action is to consult a specialist speech pathologist for an evaluation. At Kander Speech Pathology, we are happy to talk with you about your concerns.

We do not need a referral from a General Practitioner to conduct an assessment but it is advisable for you to consult your General Practitioner if you are concerned about a developmental delay in your child.

Kander Speech Pathology will bulk bill patients on the Enhanced Primary Care Program, including children and adults.

Your General Practitioner will decide if your child is eligible for the EPC Program. There is a maximum of five sessions per calendar year only and you will need to bring along your referral form to the first session to be bulk billed.

A speech pathology report will be sent to your General Practitioner at the beginning and conclusion of the five sessions.

Speech Assessment

Kander Speech Pathology provides assessment and management of communication disorders in the following age groups:

  • 12 months to 5 years old
  • 5 years to 12 years old
  • Adolescents and adults

If there are other concerns we cannot help you with, we will encourage you to consult your General Practitioner for further follow up .

Speech Difficulties in Children

We understand how difficult it can be to find out that your child may have communication difficulties. We can assist you in finding the best way to support your child and build their  confidence.

We encourage parents, carers and guardians to be involved in the therapy process and ask questions about the therapy process.

We are keen to liaise with school teachers and support staff to discuss how to implement communication strategies in the classroom. Please note that parents/guardians will have to give consent for this to occur.

Speech therapy goals and therapy progress will be reviewed and discussed with parents, guardians and carers regularly.

All clients will have access to an online speech pathology program to work on therapy targets at home.
